Democrats to Push Vote on Gonzales — “They can have their votes of no-confidence but it’s not going to make the determination about who serves in my government,” Bush said Monday. “This process has been drug out a long time. … It’s political.” — Yes, ignore it because it is “political.” Just as the politicization of the justice department should have been ignored. We pay way too much attention to the politicizing of things in this damn country! —

I keep thinking some pundit or other will note that The
Decider is, in fact, a politician and that politics is how stuff gets done.
As opposed to, I dunno, divine fiat.
Like the pope used to drive…
Politics is how “stuff” “gets” “done.”
1427, from M.Fr. politique (14c.) “political,” from L. politicus “of citizens or the state, civil, civic,” from Gk. politikos “of citizens or the state,” from polites “citizen,” from polis “city”. Replaced in most adj. senses by political (1551). The verb meaning “to engage in political activity” is first recorded 1917, a back-formation from politics. [“politic.” Online Etymology Dictionary. Douglas Harper, Historian. 12 Jun. 2007.]
