September 6, 2006

This week’s Gang Activity is a little bit ‘out there’; but I think it works on a couple of levels. A suggestion for this and the other posts in this category: enjoy the comic as written first, to get a feel for the joke, before delving into the altered version.

Bazooka Joe 21
White House: Our governmental policy, and it’s implementation, is uncompromised by the fallibilities of man! —The Administration

“Joe, let’s answer history’s call with confidence and a clear strategy and stay the course in the mid-term elections.”

“Ok.”

Final frame: Fifty years from now, history looks back on our time with unforgiving clarity.

The “Joe” in question is Joe Lieberman, who will be offered the Secretary of Defense position after the election, presuming he wins (thus enabling the governor of his state to appoint a Republican [in label, not just in ideology] replacement).
