Right Out Straight
Your Montag is still extremely busy out in meatspace. I don’t know who said it first, but my situation can best be summed up by the quaint-wood-plaque-platitude, The More I Work, the Behinder I Get. I am sorry to say that blogging will continue to be sparse for a while longer; though there are a couple of good posts rattling around in my head, and when I find the time, will pass them along as soon as possible.
For now, here’s a couple of news items:
George Bush Sr. asked retired general to replace Rumsfeld
“I’m the decider and I decide what’s best. And what’s best is for Don Rumsfeld to remain,” [the president] said. His endorsement of Rumsfeld was a rebuke not only to the generals but also to his father.
The elder Bush’s intervention was an extraordinary attempt to rescue simultaneously his son, the family legacy and the country.
Abu Musab al-Zarqawi killed in air raid
Al-Zarqawi and seven aides, including spiritual adviser Sheik Abdul Rahman, were killed Wednesday
Will the evildoers of violence in Iraq now flounder ineffectively under the lack of leadership? Or was Zarqawi actually more of a boogeyman?
