March 21, 2006

1. Iraqis Think U.S. in Their Nation to StayStrong majorities [of Iraqis] tell pollsters they’d like to see a timetable for U.S. troops to leave, but believe Washington plans to keep military bases in their country. — Somebody was talking about this just the other day.
2. If Only… — The lessons of our Iraqi bungles — Fuckin’ guys dropped the ball.
3. Changes Urged to Stop Torture in China — How long before we’re there too? (I don’t mean before the UN human right commission. I mean torturing and detaining political dissidents.)
4. Red Sox Get O.F. Pena for RHP Arroyo — Goodbye, Bronson. You can think about some new guitar chord you learned while you’re supposed to be pitching in Cincinnati, now. And hopefully Papi and Manny can teach Wily how to not strike out.
5. An Image.

Baseball talk, huh? It’s almost that time again. I can hardly wait to watch…the Mariners. Ugh.

I saw the Mariners beat Anaheim while on vacation in CA last April. Ichiro is fun to watch. And he’s a world champion now. Maybe some of that’ll rub off on the team.

(Tickets to the Angels game cost less than tickets to Red Sox AA farm team, the Portland Seadogs.)
