Preventive Strikes Bad, Ungh

April 23, 2006

Zbigniew Brzezinski (Carter’s national security advisor – don’t let that put you off) writes a well thought out argument against unprovoked “preventive strikes” (is that an oxymoron?) in Iran for today’s LA Times: to summarize, it would be (1) unconstitutional; (2) would precipitate retaliatory violence in the region as well as involving even more U.S. troops; (3) oil prices would rise steeply; and (4) the U.S. would become even more of a big, fat target.

Number 3 concerns me, because when you look at the people who have invested in the string of failed businesses on OFFAL‘s National Embarassment of a resume, you realize that the people proping him up all these years are the same who profit when the price of oil is high. Just saying.
