1. Dozens Dead After Egyptian Ship Disaster — An Egyptian ferry carrying about 1,300 people sank in the Red Sea overnight during bad weather, and rescue ships arriving at the scene Friday pulled dozens of bodies from the water, an official said. About 100 survivors were rescued in five lifeboats. — I fear the word “dozens” only begins to tell the story.
2. The End of the Internet? — …phone and cable lobbyists are now engaged in a political campaign to further weaken the nation’s communications policy laws. They want the federal government to permit them to operate Internet and other digital communications services as private networks, free of policy safeguards or governmental oversight. — Then we will pay out the ass for everything we do online. Fuckin’ lobbyists.

Private internets, eh? Lovely. Well, they all have private armies now, I guess. You see that half trillion dollar defense budget figure and that doesn’t even cover the private ‘contractors’ over there.
What’s the defense budget come out to per person? $2000? Shit, for a couple grand, someone could cover the cost of a private contractor “down there” from time to time; and relieve their tension in a less destructive manner.
You know, I hear only a few ‘dozen’ Iraqi civilians have been killed since the war started. Just another example of how the media loves to blow things out of proportion.
