Yes, you may claim to be an award winning blog. And what an award it is! Congrats on the 300th post.
As I understand it, the only thing the ‘crackdown on lobbying’ does is make it illegal to take someone on a golfing junket unless you ALSO make a campaign contribution. So the rules are being changed in the Congressman’s favor, I do believe. And they expect us to believe this is “reform”?!

Neil Shakespeare: I don’t think they expect us to believe in it. (“Us” meaning the small percentage of people who pay attention to this crap.) I think they’re counting on the vast percentage of people who don’t pay much attention to this crap to go on not paying much attention to this crap.
I read somewhere that the Dems have an alternate plan for reform, will it be serious? I don’t know.
Myself, I’m not convinced there is actually a place for paid lobbyists in an open democracy. But I haven’t thought about it enough to know what to do about it.
