I mean, here, first of all, the way we engage in dealing with a filibuster now is we simply get the threat, and then we don’t bring the bill to the floor, rather than forcing the opposition party, in this case the Republicans, to actually filibuster, to read from the phone book for days and days. Imagine if Republican after Republican got up on the floor of the Senate and read for days and days from the phone book, filibustering and shutting the Senate down. For what? Because they don’t believe in healthcare reform? That would change the debate.

of course the health insurance bill is a turd that can’t rightfully be called healthcare reform, so perhaps a filibuster would be for the better.

what i was trying to get at in an unnecessarily opaque manner is that all observable evidence indicates the democrats don’t care about the will of American people (whatever that may be.)

This whole ordeal is even funnier when you recall that the Democratic Party decided not to filibuster some bill or appointment (I cannot remember the specifics at the moment) as the then-Republican majority threatened to eliminate the filibuster as a response. Harry Reid backed down, wanting to save the filibuster for another day. Apparently this is that day!
